The goals of the homeowners in this project were to open up the room and incorporate the dining room into the kitchen, while maintaining the charm of this Mentor Ohio century home kitchen. This required the removal the wall between the kitchen and dining room while matching up the extensive old woodwork of this 100 year old home. The pictures will show that all goals were met and at the same time, the entire kitchen was brought into the 21st century.
Custom painted cabinetry was installed as well as both Corian and granite countertops. A combination working and eat in island was added where the dividing wall once was. A combination of recessed, pendant, and under cabinet lighting was added to the room to properly light the new kitchen. Interior cabinet lighting was added to the glass door cabinetry. A new hardwood floor was added to compliment the existing old oak woodwork in the home. Extensive electrical upgrades were added to bring the electrical needs to today's requirements.
