The goal of the customer for this Mentor, Ohio kitchen was to update the appearance of the kitchen but more importantly, to open up the room and make it more inviting to the rest of the home. This kitchen, which once only had a three foot doorway into the kitchen, was opened up by removing the wall between the kitchen and the dining room.

This custom kitchen features cherry cabinetry with a white glaze finish and granite countertops. A ceramic tile backsplash, complete with deco tiles, was added to complete the finished look. A hardwood floor was added in both the kitchen and dining room to help the two rooms look as one.

Extensive lighting was added to light up the new kitchen. Recessed lighting was added to the main area while mini recessed halogen lights were added to light up the cabinet fronts. Zenon under-cabinet lights were added to complete the lighting needed to light the countertop work surface. Electrical upgrades were added to update the electrical needed for the kitchen to today’s requirements.
